2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gay cashed in big after his impressive showings for the Rams in 2021 (94.1 FG percentage) and 2022 (93.3 percent), signing a four-year contract with the Colts last spring that made him the second-highest-paid kicker in terms of average annual value. He ended up tying for second among kickers in fantasy points thanks to his 41 field-goal attempts (second most), but he also had the second most FG misses (eight). To be fair, five of those misses came from 50-plus yards, and Gay also had eight makes in that range, making him more of a slight disappointment than a disaster. The contract should give him job security for 2024, and there's a chance for the Colts offense to take a big step forward with second-year QB Anthony Richardson at the helm. Read Past Outlooks
Misses one in loss
Gay made three of four field-goal attempts in Saturday's 23-19 loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Gay's lone miss came from 57 yards out and although it had the distance, hit the right upright and failed to go through. However, he was successful in the contest from 52, 38 and 35 yards, but the Colts ultimately suffered a season-ending loss. The Utah product made a career-high 33 field goals this year, including eight from 50 yards and beyond, which was also a career best. On the other hand, Gay's 80 percent conversion rate was his lowest since his rookie campaign. The 29-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Colts last offseason and will likely remain the team's kicker in what could be a formidable offense next year.

Historic performance in OT win
Gay became the first kicker in NFL history to make at least four field goals of 50-plus yards in one game in Sunday's 22-19 overtime win over the Ravens, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
All four makes from long distance came after halftime. Gay made a 53-yard, game-tying field goal in the fourth quarter, then won the game with a 53-yard field goal in overtime. When the Colts gave Gay the largest free agent contract for a kicker in NFL history -- $22.5 million over four years -- this past offseason, it was with performances like this one in mind.

The Colts made Gay one of the highest-paid kickers in league history this offseason, apparently impressed by his 92.5 percent conversion rate on field goals the last three years with the Rams. Gay also made 97.9 percent of his PATs for Los Angeles, and he went 12-for-15 from 50-plus yards. The issue is the team, not the player, as the Colts' offense was miserable last season and might need time to improve under incoming first-round pick Anthony Richardson, who had only one full season as the starting QB at Florida.
