2024 Fantasy Outlook
Slayton's five years with the Giants have yielded four seasons in the range of 46-50 catches, 724-770 receiving yards and 15.0-15.7 yards per catch. That includes 2023, when he was stuck in an offense with terrible blocking and three different starting quarterbacks. Slayton led the team in receiving for a second straight year (and fourth time overall), with the final four weeks accounting for 41.7 percent of his yardage and three of his four TDs. Despite the strong finish, it may be difficult for the 2019 fifth-round pick to match his past success after the Giants selected WR Malik Nabers sixth overall in the 2024 Draft. While Slayton is still likely to have a starting job, there's a good chance Nabers almost instantly becomes the best WR and strongest target-earner Slayton has ever shared a field with. Likely to remain starter
Slayton (thumb) is expected to open the season as a starting wideout opposite rookie first-round pick Malik Nabers, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton refused to report to voluntary offseason workouts, as he's entering the final season of a two-year contract and is seeking an extension. The Giants, however, haven't budged, and the team used the sixth overall pick in last week's draft to take Nabers after using a third-round pick on Jalin Hyatt in 2023. While Slayton is the favorite to open the summer as a starter on the outside, the team likely hopes Hyatt can push the veteran for snaps and targets in his second season. Nabers is the most talented receiver of the lot and could quickly prove to be the No. 1 option in the passing game.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Robinson arrival related?
The Giants' signing of Allen Robinson on Thursday reported by ESPN.com may have partly come about as a result of Slayton's ongoing contract impasse.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is seeking an adjustment or extension of the two-year, $12.2 million contract he signed prior to the 2023 season, a campaign in which the veteran wideout tied or set new career highs with 50 receptions and 770 yards. Robinson has actually been a more accomplished receiver overall over the course of his career, although he is three years older than Slayton and has been under 40 receptions in each of the last three campaigns.

2019
Slayton started 24 of 30 games his first two seasons despite being a fifth-round pick in 2019, combining for 1,491 yards and 11 TDs while averaging 15.2 yards per catch. He then fall out of favor and down the depth chart in 2021, before being revived in 2022 -- 724 yards on 71 targets, with 11 starts in 16 games -- under new coach Brain Daboll. Slayton wasn't even a volume receiver in college at Auburn and is unlikely to become ever one in the NFL, but he's been a capable field-stretcher for most of his career while making good on his 4.39 40 time for the 2019 Scouting Combine. He does have snap competition this year, with fellow 2022 starter Isaiah Hodgins returning, Jalin Hyatt drafted in the third round and free-agent signing Parris Campbell potentially getting a chance to play outside at some point. Slayton re-signed with the Giants on a two-year, $12 million contract, but there's no guaranteed money in the second season and only $4.9 million guaranteed at signing -- slightly more than Campbell got but still not a huge commitment.
