2024 Fantasy Outlook
McBride had just 265 receiving yards as a rookie, but the 2022 second-round draft pick out of Colorado State emerged as one of the league’s most productive tight ends in the second half of his sophomore season. Zach Ertz hurt his quadriceps in Week 7 of 2023 and didn’t suit up for the Cardinals again, opening the door for McBride to post 66 catches for 655 yards and three touchdowns on 85 targets over the last 10 games of the season. If McBride could sustain that 10-game pace over a full 17-game season, it would work out to 112 catches for 1,114 receiving yards on 145 targets. Both of those 17-game target and yardage totals would have led all NFL tight ends in 2023, and only Evan Engram (114) had more receptions. Arizona let top wide receiver Marquise Brown walk in free agency, which could open up even more targets for McBride on a rebuilding Cardinals team that could find itself playing from behind a lot again in 2024 after finishing 4-13 each of the past two seasons. Few if any TEs across the NFL have a higher volume floor than McBride, who had at least six catches in six of the eight games started by Kyler Murray last year. Read Past Outlooks
Catches third TD Sunday
McBride had three receptions on six targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-20 loss to Seattle.
ANALYSIS
McBride finished his breakout fantasy campaign on a high note by catching the only touchdown Kyler Murray threw against the Seahawks on Sunday. The second-year tight end saw huge jumps in usage after Week 1 starter Zach Ertz (quadriceps) landed on season-ending IR in Week 7. McBride took advantage of the opportunity and rattled off 69 receptions, 655 yards and all three of his touchdowns over the ensuing 10 games as the No. 1 option. That is a healthy enough snapshot to get an idea of the impact McBride could have in the shallow fantasy tight end pool in 2024.

Close to franchise record
McBride is one catch away from setting the Cardinals' franchise record for most receptions by a tight end in a season, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
McBride started the season as the backup tight end to Zach Ertz, but the former saw his snap count tick upwards midway through the season and eventually took over the starting job while Ertz was on injured reserve. The second-year tight end has drawn at least seven targets in five of his last six appearances and is up to 56 catches for 610 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Barring any significant injury-related setback, McBride should capture the franchise tight end receiving record at some point in Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
McBride became the first tight end taken in the 2022 NFL Draft when Arizona selected him out of Colorado State with the 55th overall pick. After racking up 1,121 receiving yards in his final college season, the 6-foot-4 tight end began his NFL career in a depth role but ascended to the top of the depth chart after Zach Ertz tore his ACL in Week 10. In the seven-game stretch from Week 11 onward, McBride caught 25 of 35 passes for 234 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Ertz’s rehab may stretch into the 2023 season, so McBride could pick up where he left off as the starter for an Arizona team that’s expected to be playing from behind much of the time but might struggle to move the ball if QB Kyler Murray is absent or limited as he works his way back from his own ACL tear.
